This year we took the Hopkins on our annual trip to Lake Powell and Utah during the week of July 4th. The drive out took longer than usual due to tire trouble on the trailers. The kids all got along well and they rode the tube a lot at Lake Powell. The adults did a little waterskiing and wakeboarding (not too much since we're all getting old).
We rode the Yamaha Rhinos through Casto Canyon and to Lake Panguitch. We visited with John & Michelle, Dave & Karen, & all their kids at Bear Paw campground. We went with them for a ride and later met them in Panguitch for the fireworks show. It was spectacular as usual but more crowded due to flyers advertising the event this year. Other places we visited were Zion, Bryce, and the Wildlife Museum.
We left Utah around 4am and cruised home without hitting the holiday traffic. We stopped for a break at the Alien Jerky place and the kids posed with the Alien State Trooper.
